It’s time to talk about the Summer Trends for 2018 that I am head over heels with. With the launch of my Vintage kollection coming out this summer, I am forever influenced by the latest trends and street style. If you’ve been following my brand and designs, then you know that I am all about retro + print + denim vibes. I love wearing items that people can’t ‘find.’ Some things I wear you can find right in the mall, but for those special unique pieces – it’s all vintage babe.
I absolutely love being casual in sneakers, but also love rocking high heels. Both looks are sexy – it’s all about how you rock it, and wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. So let’s get into my favorite trend of the summer:
1980’s by day and night – all of the yes on this one!
I LOVE the 80’s and 90’s fashion. I grew up watching classic tv shows, like Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Believe it or not, I was obsessed with Will Smith’s style! He always wore funky looking hats and cool looking denim pieces. And he never missed a beat with those bright-colored print shirts. Obsessed with him, right? And of course we can’t leave out Cardi B and Bruno Mars with their epic looks from their latest video collab, Finesse. So dope!
And take a look at these – I literally died for a second. Everything from the slogan tee, puff sleeved jackets, high waisted jeans, detailed rompers, oversized blazers, and short eccentric dresses is IN.
Also, boiler suits are back. Legit they’re the hottest thing I’ve seen in a long time. The model is rocking an all black suit from Isabel Marant. So simple but so sexy. We can thank Ghostbusters for this look too, like let’s be honest. Fashion always has a way of repeating itself.
Let’s not forget about our slogan tee’s – these are one of my favorites. This one is from Dior, and It’s the sexiest look when you tuck your tee into a maxi skirt or a pair of denim shorts. I’m all for the tuck in. Show off your waistline girl! Summer is coming.
This yellow-gold blazer from Balenciaga is also giving me life. I love it with the blue leggings and satin skirt. I should try walking down the street like this – can I pull that look off? You can make this look as casual or elegant as you’d like. Style a jacket with jeans and heels, or with leggings and a pair of converse.
And of course, the mini-dress. YASS….I totally love this look from Saint Laurent. The shoulders are EVERYTHING. I also love the belt and cleavage style. You can even play with this look, and wear different color heels. I remember looking through my mom’s closet and saw all of her vintage dresses and jackets with big shoulder pads. I was obsessed with them.
