First of all, I wanna say, thank you to everyone who reached out to me after reading my last blog post. So much love! I had no idea that the response would’ve been so warm. If you missed last week’s post, you can check it out here.
With that said, today I wanna talk all about self-care.
What exactly is self-care?
Well, that can mean different things to different people. For some, self-care involves doing something that they’re passionate about – like a hobby. It can be painting, reading, or just sitting back and watching a movie. For others, it can be doing something that makes you feel good – a massage, facial, or a nice hot bubble bath.
This past weekend I decided to do a little self-care at a hotel getaway. We all could use a staycation, right? I checked in at the Hollywood Roosevelt. I really love this spot. Such a beautiful aesthetic and peaceful atmosphere. The only problem was the weather – no pool for me! But next time I am definitely taking a dip. Their pool is so nice.
I mainly wanted to get away so that I could have some peace. As you know, the first few months in LA are rough, and yes, I’ve been getting my ass kicked! Sure, there’s been some great milestones that I’ve achieved, and I’ve met some new friends, but settling in a new place always has its struggles.
But in the midst of the setbacks and disappointments, we have to take time for ourselves to relax and just breathe. Yall know I’m Type A and I have high anxiety at times, so I do whatever I can to control those moments. And so, for 24 hours, I only had to answer to myself! No work, no stress. I ordered room service (like a boss) and acted as bougie as possible.
Breakfast and brunch are my favorite meals, so when it came time to order breakfast I did THEE most – 3 salmon and mozzarella cheese bagels, a side of strawberries and blueberries, a glass of grapefruit juice, home fries, and coffee. The absolute most lol. And I ate it all….like I should.
I’m a true believer in the power of prayer, manifesting, and positivity. I may fall and have my moments, but I always get back up. There’s nothing wrong with a little help from self, and care.
If you’re going through a tough time, or if you’re not – put some time in your calender for you. No distractions, no work. Enjoy yourself and love yourself!
Also, a brand new ebook drops on the site today at 5pm PST! Don’t miss it….xx
