Why It’s Ok To Be Extra AF

“You do too much”

“Maybe you should get married and settle down.”

“Can you even make real money as a singer or fashion blogger?”

And the list goes on. I’ve heard it all! It never really gets old, and at this point, it’s kind of entertaining. I’ve been told I’m ‘extra’ several times. Fact is, its a compliment LOL. I consider myself to be aggressive when it comes to my biz and my brand. It’s my baby, and I treat it like one. My mama always told me, “it starts with you – and ends with you.” Facts. Every decision we make begins with us. So when it comes to your brand – why shouldn’t you be bold? Some people can’t handle me. I’ve worked with many people throughout my years of entrepreneurship, and trust me babe, some peeps think I am unrealistic, or that I dream too big. Pssh! Say what?! If I don’t have big dreams for myself, then who will???

I’m incredibly Type A and slightly OCD at times about certain things. But this isn’t something I’m ashamed of! It’s the mistakes I’ve made in the past, that helped me work harder at my craft today. People have NO idea what I do behind the scenes, or the setbacks I go through while hustling to build my brand – especially living in a place like Los Angeles. You cannot crumble or fall behind here. You have to keep pushing. You have to be extra to achieve your dreams and get what you want!

Quite often people confuse strong-minded women as being bitchy, or too aggressive. But that’s not the case. Running a business is hard work, and it’s not always easy. You are the director behind your brand.

I’ve been working on a secret project for months now. I started from the ground up, and have built a plan around my brand vision. During this process I have remained humble, but also fearless. I have to be extra. I have to put in the hours, and be completely selfish when it comes to my business. I’m also SUPER excited for you all to find out what I’ve been up to!

Work hard at your craft, and run your own shit, but stay humble! Seek advice from other entrepreneurs, and learn as much as you can while building your business. I’m still learning, and will never stop learning. Everything is a process babe.

If you’ve been told that you’re extra, its ok. Stay extra! The world can’t exist without your pretty, bold face in it. Show them what you’re made of babe.

Thanks so much for reading babe. Where would I be without you? Have an amazing day and magical rest of the week. I’ll meet you here again next Monday, xo.
