I was sitting in the waiting room at the doctor’s office the other day, and I saw a young guy dressed in light blue washed denim jeans, ol skool Reebok sneakers, and a graphic T-shirt. He looked like an extra on set of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. If you don’t know already – the 90’s was my favorite fashion era. In fact, it was the best era for EVERYTHING – especially music and pop culture.
I remember back in the day, I told one of my friends that one day the 90’s fashion trends will come back. Any chance I got, I would wear my high waist jeans, funky tee, fishnets, you name it. My mom used to look at my outfits sometimes and just be like, “What are you seriously wearing though?” I would laugh every time. At some point she just grew to accept it.
One thing I can say for sure, is that I’m loving the new trends that have been poppin’ lately. Because honestly, in my heart – the 90’s never left.
Here’s a list of 10 trends from the 90’s that have made a strong comeback:
Honestly, this is legit my favorite style of jeans. For girls like me with a smaller waist, these jeans are absolute heaven. For me at least, jeans are the hardest thing to buy for myself. They fit well in one area, but not in another. I bought my first pair of mom jeans a few years ago at a super cute vintage store in Buffalo. best decision I ever made.
Ok…slaaaaay. I love this trend. Blake Lively does it best I think. She’s stunning in everything she wears, but she is also the queen of wearing a fresh trend – she wastes no time. Neon is a beautiful color on all skin tones. It just adds that pop to any style. Thinking I need to get my hands on one of these sometime soon…..
I will admit, these are not my fave lol. I just can’t. Some girls can – and they look good while doing it – but this trend isn’t for me. I think its because I have long, skinny legs…and wearing these would only make me look smaller. But, despite me not in favor of this trend, I do see some girls rockin’ the look!
Coming from the queen herself, Rihanna can wear ANYTHING. (obvi she’s my obsession) I knew that fanny pack was coming back! I just added one to my cart. Super cute style, and soooo convenient. I personally love the fanny pack because sometimes I just don’t want to wear a purse. It’s nice to have a fanny pack that sits comfortably around your waist without worrying about straps.
I’m in favor of this one. I think its super cute! It really gives that “80’s/90’s” era feel. High ponytails are definitely a thing. My big ass head can’t wear a high pony tail, but I can opt for a side lol. Hailey rocks this look well.
Again, my favorite person, Rhianna. I don’t have to say much – but this is an ENTIRE mood. Can we just take a moment? I personally love baggy fashion – especially jackets. Also, I miss her red hair, even though red has never been my color. Y’all know my struggle….
It’s a yes for me. Denim will never, ever go away. Until the end of time, there will always be denim styles and designs in every era. I love this look right here. I have been wearing denim overalls for awhile now, and they’re absolutely perfect. Issa vibe!
You already know – my signature top look. I love me a crop top. Even in the winter I used to wear them underneath a sweatshirt and jacket. They make me feel sexy, but also make me feel like I’m taller. I’m only 5’4″ and sometimes I wanna be 5’7″ (I know, I literally can’t with myself sometimes) I’m so happy I finally live in California, where I can wear all the crop tops I want.
Ok now see….what we not gon do LOL….ok, ok. These can be cute. I said can. I actually wouldn’t mind wearing one of these, but just not in velvet. I would burn up. But I do appreciate the comeback, and if it was the right material I would definitely rock this.
Versace hit the runways with an entire collection of flannel-inspired looks. They are super cute, and I like them a lot. I’ve always been a fan of flannel, and looking at these designs definitely makes me want to play around with the look. I do love these colors, as they go well together. Flannel though, has never really left, celebrities and models have worn the look in various ways for awhile now. I’m all for it!
Alright babes, that’s all I’ve got for today. Thank you so much for stopping by and reading this week’s post. I so appreciate you. See you in the next one, all my luv.
